The 25th Annual Children's' National Medical Center Symposium ECMO & Advanced Therapies for Respiratory Failure
Keystone, Colorado, USA       February 22 – 26, 2009
Winter Sports

Skiing, Riding and Snow sports are by far the biggest draw at Keystone. Single or Multiple-Day Lift Tickets offer a Three-Mountain Pass for Keystone, Breckenridge and Arapahoe Basin. With a 3-Day lift ticket, you can also ski one of those days at Vail or Beaver Creek. The ECMO meeting has a special group rate for lift tickets. Proceed to the Group Ticket office in the Keystone Base area: you can find it in the back of the building where lift tickets are sold. Group tickets are only available at the Keystone base area, the Group office is behind the walk-up Lift Ticket window in front of the Mountain House (not avail abel at River Run). Tell them that you are with the ECMO meeting, use the group code CM0EC08, and get the group rate of $75 per day for 1 to 3 days, $70 per day for a four day pass. Lift Tickets are also available at Gart Sports (on the left as you leave Dillon).

Equipment Rental

Rentskis.com has created an exclusive website for advance ski and snowboard rental reservations on-line. Book your equipment before you arrive and receive special ECMO pricing. Click Advance Equipment Rental to get more information or make a booking.

Discount ski rentals are also available in the Keystone Base area, again, mention the group code.

Health Alert:

AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) is a result of rapid ascent from low to high elevations, and it explains why Giles Peek is the way he is. Seriously, Pulmonary and Cerebral Edema resulting from this can be fatal. Here is a general information link on Altitude Sickness, which is worth reading. Keystone is at 9,500ft and the Breckenridge summit is nearly 13,000 ft. Be kind to yourself and get in shape early. Drink plenty of water prior to and while in Keystone. Cut your consumption of alcohol and caffeine, too. You will have more fun if you feel good.

Designed to resemble quaint alpine villages, River Run and Keystone Village are beautiful pedestrian villages. River Run is located right at the base of the mountain, while Keystone Village runs along the shore of Keystone Lake. With gondolas, hot tubs, a swimming pools, shops, art galleries, restaurants, great coffee shops and ice skating rinks, they are a certain crowd pleaser.

We recommend that you visit The Keystone Website for information about the Villages.

Everything you need to know about fun in and around the snow. Cross country skiing, sleigh rides, hockey, ice skating, yoga, snow shoeing, guided mountain tours, full moon tours, lunch treks, snowmobiling, ecology tours, racing, tubing, snowbiking...
