General: Scientific abstracts and interesting and informative case reviews will be accepted for either oral or poster presentation. Preparation for each is described below.
Scientific abstracts describing work in the following areas will be considered for oral or poster presentations: extracorporeal life support, including neonatal, pediatric &/or adult ECMO, ECCO2R, or ventricular assist devices; pathophysiology of respiratory diseases; all therapies for respiratory failure, including nitric oxide, liquid ventilation, HFOV, etc.; outcome data on patients in respiratory failure; devices as they apply to respiratory failure techniques.
Cases reviews in the following areas will be considered for oral or poster presentations: extracorporeal life support, including neonatal, pediatric &/or adult ECMO, ECCO2R, or ventricular assist devices; all therapies for respiratory failure, including nitric oxide, liquid ventilation, HFOV, etc.; outcome data on patients in respiratory failure, etc.
Instructions for On-line Abstract submission:
- When reporting ECMO blood flow, please use cc/kg/min.
- Please do not submit the on-line registration until you have all your data ready: names of authors, results, etc. If your submission is incomplete, or needs to be changed, you may need to resubmit the entire abstract.
- The on-line abstract itself is divided into four parts: Introduction, method, results, conclusion. This will help us print the abstract in a more uniform fashion. Please note that the introduction will be available to attendees on-line, and organize your data accordingly.
- Up to ten keywords may be used, please separate keywords or phrases with commas. Attendees can search the abstract by keyword, author or institution.
- Graphics can be submitted in the following forms: images: JPG, BMP, GIF. Tables: HTML, Excel, Word, Wordperfect. If you have questions on the graphics, please contact the Web Consulting firm. They will size them and add them to your abstract. Note that while colors will show up on the Internet, printing in the program is only in black and white.
